Video Conferencing for Therapy and Consultations
Horizon Rehabilitation Centers strives to make therapy accessible for all patients. While we have four locations, three in Nebraska and one in Iowa, many of our patients live in rural communities. For many of those patients, making regular trips into our office to receive a consult or complete a physical therapy session can be difficult.
Remote Rehab is Horizon Rehab’s solution to ensure all our patients receive the rehabilitation and therapy services they need to improve. Using video conferencing technology, patients can receive a video consultation or take part in a therapy session thorough the Internet at home.
TeleHealth Video Consultation
Through a video conference, you will receive a consultation from a licensed physical therapist to discuss your symptoms and go over possible therapy and rehabilitation options available to you through Horizon Rehab.
Before you participate in Horizon Rehab’s Remote Rehab consultation program, you’ll need to fill out a liability waiver and make sure that your home computer, laptop or tablet are equipped with:
- A microphone
- A webcam
- Speakers
- An Internet connection
- An Active Email Account
Consultations cost $75 for a 30-minute conference and $40 for a 15-minute follow-up conference.
TeleExercise Online Classes
With a licensed physical therapist offering classes to help enhance your physical therapy and improve fitness, Horizon Rehab’s Remote Rehab TeleExercise program offers an individualized exercise therapy program for each user. This program is ideal for homebound patients looking to gain strength to help them maintain their independence.
Each class is led by a licensed physical therapist or physical therapist assistant and can be modified to meet your individual ability level. You’ll need an Internet connection, an active email account and a computer fitted with a webcam, speakers and a microphone to participate in the class.
Classes are offered twice a week during a four-week session at a cost of $30 per month.
Signing Up for Remote Rehab Services
To set up a video consultation or to enroll in a home exercise class, call Horizon Rehab at 402-393-9390 to request the service you would like.
If you are scheduling a video consultation, you will be asked some questions to make sure you are matched with the best therapists to consult you on potential treatment. You will be sent an email containing a link to a secure online conference portal. Click the link to complete setup of the program before you consultation.
Patients seeking to enroll in a video exercise class will need to come into a Horizon Rehab clinic office for an evaluation to make sure they are put into the proper class. After the evaluation, an email with a secure link to the video conference portal will be sent to you. Follow the step-by-step instructions to make sure you’re ready for the class.
